Mimèsis. Un design vivant
Nature has influenced artistic design elements since the 19th century: it's called biomorphism. Avant-garde artists draw inspiration from nature in all its forms, functions and possibilities to create. The exhibition explores the history of nature in art through work by leading modern designers (from Japan, France and Scandinavia). The exceptional collection of Serge Mouille's work is on display for the first time and has a biomimicry approach to his lighting design. The artists bring nature into their design with natural or artificial elements. This is an exploration of nature's deep transformation through its links to technical and technological production alongside innovative research into the current design sector.
