A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

From the musical mastermind behind West Side Story, a Broadway Bombshell arrives in Paris this late 2023-2024… Steven Sondheim's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum graces the stage of the newly renovated Lido2Paris! Come to this historic venue, situated on the glorious Champs-Élysées, for an unparalleled evening of merriment, comedy, and hi-jinks, as directed by none other than one of America's most acclaimed and prolific composers.
In regard to critical accolade, it would seem that the legacy of this musical comedy precedes it – the original production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum won several Tony Awards, including that of the best musical, upon its initial debut in New York in the 60s. Since then, it has been performed countless times featuring a slew of famous faces, including the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, Nathan Lane, and Phil Silvers, to embody the cast of colourful characters.
The scene is set in Ancient Rome, wherein we are introduced to Pseudolus, our lovable protagonist. We join him on a quest for freedom, which he hopes to attain by helping his young master, Hero, win the heart of a courtesan named Philia. The Rocky Horror Show

Inspired by The Rocky Horror Picture Show that was released in 1975, a tremendous show blending science fiction, horror, comedy, and musical elements, to create a unique and entertaining narrative. Memorable characters bring their flamboyant quirks, charisma, and charm to the story.
The story follows a couple driving their car on a stormy night, only to experience a breakdown that leaves them stranded and in need of help. They seek refuge at a nearby castle, where they encounter an eccentric group of people that entice them to break the norms and embrace the unconventional. The couple gets caught up in seduction, tension, breaking societal expectations to embrace their own desires.
The impact of The Rocky Horror Picture Show extends far beyond its initial release, gaining a dedicated fanbase, and leading to a cultural influence, in terms of fashion, liberation, pop culture, and most importantly the celebration of nonconformity. Today, numerous screenings and live performances around the world have adopted the timeless theme of this film, offering an outstanding show that encourages audience participation by dressing up, screaming, dancing and more.
