Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac

At the beginning of the 1990s, under the impulse of the art dealer Jacques Kerchache and the mayor of Paris Jacques Chirac, emerges the idea of creating a museum dedicated to the first arts. On his arrival at the Élysée, Jacques Chirac launched the project for a new museum. The Public Establishment of the Musée du Quai Branly was created in 2004.

Inaugurated in 2006 in a building designed by the architect Jean Nouvel, Le Musée du Quai Branly houses collections of objects and works of art from the civilizations of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. Museum of the Man and the Museum of the African and Oceanic Arts installed in the Palace of the Golden Door (today, Musée de l'Histoire de l'Immigration).

Timetables

Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm, opening of the ticket office at 9:30 am (Sunday at 10:30 am), closing at 6 pm.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 9 pm, opening of the ticket office at 9:30 am, closing at 8 pm.
