Musée départemental de la Préhistoire
Le musée départemental de Préhistoire d’Île-de-France, designed by the architect Roland Simounet, is located in Nemours, in the heart of a picturesque forest that houses several prehistoric sites. It traces the major stages of Prehistory and Protohistory throughout the Ile-de-France, the first vestiges attesting to the presence of Man (around 600,000 years) at the end of the Gallic period .
Two tours are offered to the public: the main circuit (rooms numbered 1 to 7) which chronologically traces the general aspects of Regional Prehistory (duration of visit approximately 1h30) and the deepening circuit (numbered in bis) which Comprises four additional rooms complementing the main circuit.
