Musée Claude Bernard

The Claude Bernard Museum aims to highlight this eminent scientist, born in Saint-Julien-sous-Montmelas. A pioneer of experimental medicine, he not only marked the world of science and medicine through his many works, but he also had an incredibly rich life: researcher, philosopher, academician, senator, winegrower, author of theater…

A multiple and unique site: The Claude Bernard Museum, composed of the rich house bought at the top of his career and his birthplace, offers you a complete view of the life and work of the famous researcher. Playful and interactive, he highlights his private and public life through numerous personal items. The second part of the museum is devoted to the scientific discoveries of this great theorist of medicine.
