Musée d'Art moderne

In 1976, Pierre and Denise Levy, Troyes collectors and industrialists, donated their collection of works of art to the State. A few years later, in 1982, the Museum of Modern Art was inaugurated to host this collection, which at the time was considered one of the most important donations received by the National Museums.

The Museum of Modern Art, housed in the former Episcopal Palace, houses a collection of nearly 2000 works, paintings, sculptures, drawings, glassware, ceramics offering a wide panorama of Art from the second half of the 19th century to 1960s as well as a collection of primitive art objects from Africa and Oceania.

At present, the Museum of Modern Art in Troyes brings together : 470 paintings, 374 sculptures, 1405 drawings, 26 ceramics, 198 glassworks and 21 pieces of African and Oceanic art.
