Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Saint Denis

Visiter Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Saint Denis

A few steps from the Basilica, Le Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Saint-Denis testifies to the history of the city and the site. Opened in 1981 in the former carmel of Saint-Denis, the museum's collections were constituted throughout the 20th century.

The visitor is invited to discover the medieval history of the city of Saint-Denis and Saint Denys thanks to the archaeological collections. Upstairs, the visit continues in the old Carmel with collections of paintings and liturgical ornaments testifying to the everyday life of Carmel and the presence of Madame Louise, daughter of Louis XV.
