Les Châteaux de Bruniquel
Like an open book of history, the amazing Châteaux de Bruniquel lay into one of the most beautiful villages of France, where each century has successfully marked its bloom. The main charm of this site, perfectly placed to keep an eye on the valleys of Aveyron and Vere, was generated by the interfering actions of the time.
These beautiful castles have been the frame for shooting the memorable Robert Enrico’s movie “Le Vieux Fusil”, casting Philippe Noiret and Romy Shneider, during which one of the castles’ rooms has fully dedicated to photos taken during filming.
In one of the castle’s halls you can even watch a short movie about the presence of Neanderthal man, dating back to 176 500 years. This is now possible due to the global announcement published by leading scientists at the end of May, 2016, regarding the Bruniquel cave discovered in 1990.
