Château de Chouvigny

The Château de Chouvigny is a fortified 13th century building that overlooks the Sioule valley and the village of Chouvigny. It is one of the last examples of military architecture of the Middle Ages and a fascinating remnant of that distant era.

During the opening to the public in July and August, one can visit the oratory, the armory, the salon d'honneur, the hunting gallery and the tower of the treasury, all of which have furniture reflecting The different ages that crossed the castle, as well as its more or less illustrious owners. In addition, it is possible to visit the towers of the keep and the watch, which house exhibitions on writing and viticulture. Visitors also have access to the central terrace, which offers a breathtaking view of the Sioule valley from the roof of the building.
