Centre Pompidou-Metz

A moment out of time in an iconic institution whose programming has been making its audience dream for 15 years !

The first experiment in cultural decentralization, the Centre Pompidou-Metz lives each year to the rhythm of 6 to 8 temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary art as well as performances, concerts, workshops, conferences...

Its architecture, designed by architects Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, is renowned for its iconic roof in the shape of a Chinese hat. Its remarkable and bright volumes as well as the diversity of its exhibition spaces, between large open spaces and intimate spaces, are conducive to inventiveness and surprises for the visitor. A visit to the Centre Pompidou-Metz is punctuated by workshops accessible to all, shared around a coffee or a friendly meal on the terrace, reminisced through the books in the bookstore.
