The French multi-decade institution knows a rich and turbulent history before investing in 1996 the site François Mitterrand and its four towers high of 79 meters.
Today, it is one of the most important libraries in the world with a fund of tens of millions of books, periodicals, audio and video documents, microfiches ... On the six-hectare wooden esplanade, Erect the four towers, those of time, laws, numbers, and letters as four open books on knowledge. At the heart of this complex, an enclosed garden of 12,000 m2 offers readers a sense of tranquility.
