Musée du Félicien

Since 2001, the Museum has been located in the capital of the village of Argentina, in a former school building near the church and the town hall. Argentina is a village of 950 inhabitants located at 400 m altitude at the foot of the Massif of La Lauzière.

You will let yourself be guided by the Felicien, Mauritian peasant of the last century, who will tell you his village, his family, his land ... and the time that goes to the rhythm of the seasons. In three rooms, three shorts filmed in 2000 with the Argentines, will introduce you to everyday life in early 1900. The wife of the Felicien, Foncine, will welcome you in her kitchen. She will tell you her busy days. To complete the visit, two exhibition rooms where you will find tools, objects, agricultural equipment used by Félicien and his family a few years ago !

Timetables

INDIVIDUALS : from February to the end of October

Visits between 2 pm and 5 pm, last accepted entries at 5 pm

July / August : 7 days a week, also public holidays

From 1st to 29th September : Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday

Closed to individuals from 1st to 21st October

All Saints' Day : open every day except Saturdays

Closed from November to January inclusive except for groups.
