Focusing on archaeological research and current events, Archéa relies on collections often taken from rescue excavations, carried out in particular during the road construction of the Francilienne or the construction of the Roissy airport, east of Val- Of Oise. They consist of the remains of a Merovingian necropolis in the city center of Louvres, and of the two ensembles of the Orville medieval castle and the Ysieux valley, with its important thousand-year-old ceramic activity.

Archaeological objects are often a testimony to the everyday life of a modest population, but also to the evolution of the discipline, focusing on historical periods, perishable materials and other environmental disciplines.
