THE BOURGEOIS GENTLEMAN (LE BOURGEOIS GENTILHOMME)
The Bourgeois Gentleman is a scathing satire that sought to make a mockery of the upper middle class of its time. The play features a rich upstart who aims to acquire good manners in order to obtain nobility – which often ends with a series of clumsy and unfortunate mishaps!
