musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme (mahJ)
Be a guest of the Marais district which portrays the vibrant heart of the Jewish presence in Paris and admire a world-class collection in the magnificent setting of a 17th century private mansion, the Hôtel de Saint-Aignan.
The mahJ was first opened in 1998, now allowing us to uncover the history of Jews in France since the Middle Ages, enriched by the communities of Europe and North Africa. You could explore cult objects, manuscripts, textiles, unique documents on the Dreyfus affair and works by painters from the École de Paris (Chagall, Kikoïne, Soutine...) or contemporary artists (Ben Loulou, Boltanski...). It is the greatest French museum with the most valuable, original and various collection on the subject.
