Expo Les portes du possible. Art & Science-fiction

Larissa Sansour, Nation estate, 2012 film, 9’ © Larissa Sansour

Science fiction began seeping into every sector in the 1960s: graphic novels, literature, cinema, fashion, design, architecture, plastic arts and more. The dawn of television a decade before played a significant role in its media and commercial boom. The exhibition's immersive installations and classic sections present science fiction as a study of reality. More than any other genre, sci-fi explores humanity's place, choices, reality and imagination: it provides an emancipation from key political communication and gives a voice to anti-establishment movements. Science fiction blends art, science, philosophy and politics to create a place where anything is possible: not only does it change our vision of the future, science fiction builds it. The exhibition gives the floor to writers, artists, architects and directors with 180 pieces from the late 1960s to the present day.
